Gerta Grunen has been on stage since she made her tap dancing debut at age four. She appeared in The Club directed by Tommy Tune, Off Broardway at the Down Town Circle In the Square and last fall in That Ilk Off Broadway at the Hudson Guild Theatre.She toured with Broadway star, Jan Peerce, in Fiddler On The Roof, was the “Red Queen” in Alice Through The Looking Glass at the Felt Forum in New York City.

Ms. Grunen recently completed a featured role in the new film, "The Next Big Thing" starring Farley Granger and can be seen in the film "Last Breath" a medical thriller, starring Luke Perry from TV’s Beverly Hills 90210 (Available at video stores)

Ms. Grunen has performed in New York cabaret since 1982 at some of New York’s most popular clubs including Eighy Eights, Danny’s Skylight Room, Don’t Tell Mama,The Duplex, Rose’s Turn and Jan Wallman’s. She was a guest on Jim Lowe And Friends on New Jersey’s WVNJ with Steve Allen.

She has performed her one-woman show Under the Apple Tree at the Lincoln Center Bruno Walter Auditorium and A Lighter Shade Of Weill - Kurt Weill’s American Music as well as A Jewish Girl's Christmas at the Donnell Library Auditorium. At the Donnell Auditorium, she also played "Mistress Page" in Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor; starred as Rose Katz in Becoming Garcia at the New Federal Theatre (with Elizabeth Pena), and played "Mrs. Hardcastle" in a musical version of She Stoops to Conquer at the Mazur Theatre and at the Delacorte Theatre starred in From Shakespeare To Moby Dick. Gerta has been designated a "Distinguised Artist" by the Beaux Arts Society.
